Malachi 3:1 I the LORD do not change.
I love the simplicity and Truth of this verse. Our world and lives are always changing, yet God does not change. He is the God of creation, the God of the here and now, and the God of our future. Very simply, He is our Rock; steadfast and solid. When our world is swirling around us, we can run to Him for stability and peace.
He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Rahab, David, Isaiah, Peter, Paul, Martha, Mary, (go ahead, insert your own name here!)... and He is the God of people yet to be born! That thought just fills me with awe and peace. The same God Abraham prayed to is the same exact God I pray to. He's the same God you pray to... and He does not change.

Miracles
Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds declares the LORD.
A year ago today, God showed me His mighty power of protection and healing. Thank you God for the miracle you blessed me with on March 30, 2011. Thank You for all You have taught Bruce, Michael and Sarah and me this year. You have transformed our lives, and for that we are eternally grateful and stand in awe of You.

Parched! Yearning for Time in His Presence
Psalm 42:1-2 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
Psalm 84:1-2 How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Psalm 143:1-2 I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. I spread out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.
I have been intentionally spending quality time with God, praying and reading His Word, almost every day for the past year. When I don't have that devoted daily quiet time with Him, I feel a real sense of longing for time spent with Him.
I am reading through Psalms, and it is so inspiring to read that worshipers thousands of years ago felt the same way. As I was reading the verses listed above, I thought, "Yes, me too! I know how you feel!" Praying and reading God's Word quenches that thirst and fills me up in a way that nothing else of this world can.
The things of this world cannot fill us up. Our thirst is never quenched, our need never satisfied. Only Jesus Christ our Savior and God's Word can quench our thirst and fill us up. Make quality time in His presence a priority and see how making Him your center can change your life!
