I Choose Joy

Luke 2:10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people."

A dear friend of mine closes her e-mails with these three simple words:  I Choose Joy.

I, too, choose Joy!  It is my prayer that you all choose Joy this Christmas and always. I invite you to read the account of Jesus' birth in Luke 2:1-20.  You will be blessed by the good news of God's great Joy He gave to all of us.

I choose Joy because He is my Rock, my Refuge and my Fortress.

Psalm 71:3 Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.

I choose Joy because He is my Healer.

Luke 9:11 ...but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.

I choose Joy because He is my Helper.

Isaiah 41:13 For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

I choose Joy because He is Faithful.

Psalm 117:2 For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD.

I choose Joy because He is my Comforter.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

I choose Joy because He is my Counselor.

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

I choose Joy because He is my Peace.

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I choose Joy because He is my Creator.

Psalm 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I choose Joy because He is my Savior.

Luke 2:11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father,  Thank You for Joy. Thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ. I pray that everyone will come to know You and experience the Joy that only You can bring to their lives. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
