It Matters

1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -- think about such things. 

Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. Scripture tells us that it matters what we put into our mind and body. We can choose to fill ourselves up with what the world offers us, or we can fill ourselves up with what honors Him.   

 

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for discernment. Alert me to what would grieve You and the Holy Spirit who dwells within me. LORD, You call us to live a holy life. We have been bought at a price -- Jesus paid that price on the cross. Help me to make choices in my life that will always honor Jesus and the fact that He died for me. I pray to do this, not out of guilt, but out of the desire of my heart to honor You in everything I do. Amen.
